At the beginning of the race, Max Verstappen couldn’t maintain his pole position as he was overtaken by the Mercedes cars of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton in the initial corners. However, Max Verstappen managed to regain his position after a restart triggered by Alex Albon’s significant crash. He utilised DRS in the high-speed section just before Turn 9 to pass Hamilton and take control of the race. Unfortunately, George Russell’s race ended due to an engine fire.
The last restart of the race had the potential to change the order of the racers, but ultimately they went back to their original positions for the last lap under Safety Car rules.
