8 Reason Why Force Gurkha is Better Than Mahindra Thar

Mahindra Thar is the most popular SUV in India, But Force Gurkha also set their position in the Indian Market. Force Gurkha comes with body on frame, 4×4 drivetrain and 3 door which make the competition tough for Mahindra Thar.

The second generation Force Gurkha is taller than the Mahindra Thar. Both the SUV is affordable and comes with 4×4 drivetrain. Here are the 8 reasons why you should prefer Force Gurkha over Mahindra Thar.

Force Gurkha Bigger Engine

Force Gurkha is powered by a 2.6 L turbo diesel engine that puts out 90 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Its diesel engine is mated with 5 speed manual transmission. This engine is sourced from Mercedes.

On the other hand, Mahindra Thar offers both petrol and diesel engine options. Thar 2.2 L diesel engine produced 130 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque.

Force Gurkha Captain Seats

Mahindra Thar is a 5 seater SUV and the Force Gurkha is a 4 seater SUV. As you all know, the Mahindra Thar second row seats are not comfortable.

Force Gurkha comes with rear captain seats with individual armrest. The driver seat is placed high to give a good view of the road and great road presence on the road. All the seats of Gurkha are comfortable and you can go off-roading with your family and friends also.

Force Gurkha is a True Off-Roader

Both the SUVs are designed for off-roading, but the Force Gurkha has an advantage due to its 4×4 system with manual differential locks on front axles, which allows it to traverse difficult terrain with ease.

Force Gurkha has a water wading capacity of 700 mm, which is more than Mahindra Thar. The factory fitted snorkel helps Force Gurkha to achieve this water wading capacity.

Force Gurkha Larger Boot Space

Force designers did a great job, it comes with a 500 L boot space when the rear seats are in use. Moreover the Gurkha also offers a roof rack for more luggages.

While the Mahindra Thar offers 600 L boot space when the rear seats are folded but when the rear seats are in use Thar boot space reduces to 70 L. In terms of boot space Force Gurkha did a great job.

Fore Gurkha Larger Fuel Tank

Force Gurkha has 63 litre fuel tank capacity while Mahindra Thar has 57 litre fuel tank capacity. The larger fuel tank has several benefits in off-roading or long drives.

Sometimes if you are stuck in that area where the fuel pump is few or far from there then you need a larger fuel tank car. And the larger fuel tank saves time because you don’t need to stop for refuelling the car. The Force Gurkha is more practical SUV over the Mahindra Thar.

Easy Ingress & Egress

Mahindra Thar has been criticised by some for having ingress and egress problems. This is due to the Mahindra Thar design, which features a high ground clearance and you’ve to get in and come out by folding the front passenger seats.

While in Force Gurkha there is easy ingress and egress because Force allows you to get in and come out by the rear door that seems more practical than Thar.

Force Gurkha Muscular Look

Force Gurkha is more muscular than the Mahindra Thar. Because of its box-shaped body, flared wheel arches, 205 mm ground clearance, large tires, and aggressive front grille. The Gurkha is taller than the Mahindra Thar.

The Gurkha’s front grille is more pronounced and bolder than the Thar, with a larger chrome bordered FORCE badge in the centre.

Value For Money

Force Gurkha is a value for money product it offers 3 year warranty, impressive off-road capabilities, a rugged and muscular design and a spacious or comfortable cabin.

If you are a travel enthusiast then you go for the Force Gurkha because Gurkha is best in riding, comfort, off-roading, modern looks and decent interior.
