In the Indian market car makers competition will increase. So they will keep updating their existing cars or making new models. Car makers like Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Renault, Hyundai, Mahindra and Kia will launch their new models in the year of 2023.
15 Upcoming Cars in 2023
In this section we will highlight all the new upcoming cars which are expected to launch in 2023.
1 – Maruti Suzuki Jimny

Maruti Suzuki Jimny is expected to be launched in January 2023. It is a 5 door SUV, price starts at Rs 10 lakh onwards. The 4th gen Jimny is the successor of the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy which was discontinued in 2019. It is expected that Maruti offers a 1.5 litre petrol engine which produces 103 bhp power and 137 Nm torque. It is likely to be offered in four wheel drive (4WD).
Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a 5 seater SUV. It will be a rival to the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5 door and Force Gurkha 5 door.
2 – Hyundai IONIQ 5

Hyundai IONIQ 5 is a 5 seater car and it is expected to launch in India in December 2023. Hyundai IONIQ is a fully electric hatchback. The expected price of this car is around Rs 50 lakh. Globally it offers 2 battery pack options 58 kWh and 72.6 kWh, with range of 384 km and 481 km.
You can charge this car from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. It will be a rival to the Kia EV6.
3 – Toyota Innova HyCross

The all-new Toyota Innova HyCross was revealed on 25th November in the Indian market. This Innova HyCross comes with either 7 seat configuration or 8 seat configuration. Toyota offers two engine options in Innova HyCross – A 2.0 litre naturally aspirated engine which produces 174 bhp power and 209 Nm torque and a 2.0 litre petrol hybrid motor which produces 186 bhp and 206 Nm.
Toyota Innova HyCross price starts from Rs 22 lakh onwards. It competes against Kia Carnival.
4 – Mahindra Thar 5 Door

Mahindra is also working on the 5 door Thar which will likely launch in January 2023. It is expected to continue with the same engine option as the 3 door Thar. The expected price of the Mahindra Thar 5 door is around Rs 15 lakh. The Mahindra Thar 5 door has been spotted testing many times on the roads.
Mahindra Thar 3 door or 5 door have nearly same features. In the Indian market Mahindra Thar 5 door will compete with Force Gurkha 5 door.

5 – Mahindra XUV400

Mahindra XUV400 is the first Mahindra electric SUV in India. It is a 5 seater SUV and it is expected to launch in January 2023. Price of Mahindra XUV400 starts from Rs 17 lakh onwards. XUV400 EV gets a 39.4 kWh battery, with a range of 456 km. The XUV400 can go from 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.
It offers some basic features like electric sunroof, 7 inch touchscreen and push start/stop button. It will be a rival to the Tata Nexon EV.
6 – Hyundai Stargazer

Hyundai Stargazer is a 7 seater MPV. It is expected to be launched in India by March 2023. The expected price of this MPV is Rs 10 lakh onwards. Hyundai launched its stargazer in Indonesia with a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated engine. We expect the same engine on the Indian model.
It’s a quite unique looking car with its LED DRL running across the bonnet. At the rear part we have a connecting tail lamp creating H shape.

7 – Renault Arkana

Renault Arkana is a 5 seater SUV and it is expected to launch in India by October 2023. Renault Arkana has been spotted testing many times on the Indian roads. The expected price of this SUV is around Rs 20 lakh. Renault design is clearly inspired by Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe. This SUV is based on the same B0 platform as the Renault Duster.
Renault Arkana is competed with Tata Nexon, MG Hector and Harrier.
8 – Kia Sportage

Kia Sportage is a 5 seater SUV. It is planned to launch in India by July 2023. We expect that it costs around Rs 25 lakh. Kia offers two engine options in Sportage – A 2.0 litre petrol engine which produces 155 bhp power and 192 Nm torque and a 2.0 litre diesel engine which produces 185 bhp power and 400 Nm torque.
It gets a features like a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable driver seats and 6 airbags. Kia Sportage rivals like Hyundai Tuscan and Jeep Compass.
9 – Tata Sierra EV

Tata motors launches its legend in the new form. Tata Sierra rebirth in electric form. It is a 5 seater SUV and it fills the gap between Nexon and Harrier. Tata Sierra is expected to launch in India by March 2023. Its expected price starts from Rs 14 lakh onwards. Tata uses the Altroz platform (ALFA ARC platform) in Sierra.
Sierra can go up to 400 km on a single charge. It will compete against the Mahindra XUV400.
10 – Kia Seltos Facelift

Globally Kia has updated the Seltos and Now in January 2023 it will launch the Seltos facelift in the Indian market. Expected price of Kia Seltos Facelift starts from Rs 10 lakh onwards. Kia changes some exterior and interior of the Seltos Facelift. Seltos get the new LED tail lamps that are similar to Kia Carens.
Kia Seltos Facelift competes against Hyundai Creta, Mg Astor, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.

11 – Tata Harrier Facelift

Tata Harrier Facelift is expected to launch in India by January 2023. The starting price of Tata Harrier is around Rs 15 lakh. It is expected to be powered by the same 2 litre engine which produces 170 bhp power and 350 Nm torque. The updated Harrier will come with significant design and interior changes.
New Harrier comes with ADAS and it competes against the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar and Hyundai Creta (top variant).
12 – Nissan X-Trail

Nissan X Trail is a 7 seater SUV and it is planned to launch in India by May 2023. The expected price starts from Rs 40 lakh onwards. X-Trail comes with a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine which produces 163 bhp power and 300 Nm torque. It comes with features like a 12.3 inch touchscreen, head up display and heated front seats.
It competes with Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.
13 – Tata Altroz EV

Tata Altroz EV is expected to launch in India by January 2023. The electric premium hatchback expected price starts from Rs 12 lakh onwards. It is based on the same ALFA platform. The car is expected to come with cruise control, 7 inch touchscreen, ambient light, 6 airbags and connected car tech.
Tata offers 3 variants in Altroz – XT, XZ and XZ+. Tata Altroz EV is the only electric hatchback in its segment.
14 – Toyota Rumion

Toyota Rumion is a 7 seater MUV. The Rumion is expected to launch in August 2023. The expected price of Toyota Rumion is around Rs 9 lakh. It is expected to be powered by a 1.5 litre petrol engine that produces 103 bhp power and 138 Nm torque. Basically it is a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
Toyota Rumion will compete against Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Renault Triber.
15 – Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross

Maruti Suzuki is working on the new compact SUV Baleno Cross. It is expected to launch in April 2023. Its price starts from Rs 8 lakh onwards. It is expected to be powered by 1 litre turbo petrol Booster Jet engine that was used in Baleno RS. Baleno Cross will be smaller than Brezza and a beefed up version of Baleno.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross competes against Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue.
